Nova Scotia Co-operative Council announces 2023 co-op week activities including speaking event with former First Lady of the United States Michelle Obama live in Halifax on October 18, 2023

Nova Scotia, Canada – The Nova Scotia Co-operative Council, a non-profit organization, in partnership with East Coast Credit Union  is thrilled to announce a series of exciting activities for Co-op Week 2023. As part of their 75th anniversary celebrations, the Council is proud to host a captivating speaking event featuring former First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama. This inspiring occasion will take place live in Halifax on October 18th, offering an unparalleled opportunity for attendees to engage with Mrs. Obama’s wisdom and experiences firsthand.

The event aims to promote and celebrate the values of the Co-operative movement while embracing themes such as hope, optimism, resilience, kindness, community, and impact. In collaboration with six prestigious The Nova Scotia Co-operative Council and East Coast Credit Union are thrilled to partner with Atlantic Canada post-secondary institutions, charities and not for profit organizations to ensure over 3000 deserving bight minds have an opportunity to attend this extraordinary event, offering them additional learning opportunities at no cost.

Taking place at the renowned Scotiabank Centre in Halifax, doors will open at 4:30pm on October 18, 2023, for an evening of insightful discussion. The event will be moderated by  Dianne Kelderman, President & CEO of the Nova Scotia Co-operative Council and a well-respected leader in Atlantic Canada.
